Covenant to Care

This ministry organizes giving opportunities for at-risk children in the foster care system and others through the Klingberg Family Centers.

Covenant to Care is all about children; encouraging them, fulfilling their dreams and helping them in times of trouble. Children are a gift and the Covenant is about caring for them. We have also started to include our students at Trinity Academy in our efforts. We now reach out to them through four major activities.

  • In the fall, as school starts angels purchase age appropriate supplies and backpacks to equip and inspire students at the start of their academic journey.
  • At Christmas, Trinity’s Giving Tree grants wishes through the distribution of gifts that may be the only present a child receives.
  • In the spring, a collection of emergency care packs helps ensure the safe transition of young people abruptly removed from unsafe living conditions. Items are placed in reusable bags with Trinity’s name and contact information.
  • Again this year as part of our Lenten Season of Giving, new sneakers were collected for the Trinity Academy students.

Heads Up! Hartford

Heads Up! Hartford is a faith-based week-long camp uniting urban and suburban youth to improve our communities and develop as leaders.

Each camper completes over 30 hours of community service (at Foodshare, CRT, Charities of Hope and other places), participates in thought-provoking and/or recreational evening programs, and joins together for a youth-led worship service.
Adult volunteers are needed and welcomed to help in a variety of ways. See headsuphartford.org for more information. Contact Linda MacGougan (Macgougans@gmail.com)

Trinity Academy

Although Trinity Academy is an “independent elementary school” on the Trinity Church campus, our congregation supports this important Asylum Hill institution for students in the greater Hartford area. We organize the annual “Holiday Shopping Table” where students were instilled with the joy of giving while shopping for family members’ gifts from a multitude of selections donated by Trinity parishioners and we volunteer in the Trinity Academy Library.

God is Calling

It is God who calls us together into a community of faith. It is not a random happenstance: God calls us to our location on Asylum Hill as the spiritual base from which we live out our call to minister in Jesus' name.
